CASTEC Rural Pioneers

VS

Albury Wodonga Bandits

Friday 21sh May 2010 at the Icehouse – 8pm Tipoff

This Friday night, Crazy Johns SEABL hits Mount Gambier, with the CASTEC
Rural Mt Gambier PIONEERS taking on the Albury Wodonga Bandits.

The CASTEC Rural PIONEERS have won their past three games and will be keen to continue a winning streak. Last Friday night the CASTEC Rural Pioneers jumped out to a big lead early and held off a fast finishing AIS team. Good contributions came from Jeffree, Rice and Tipton, with Josh Jenkins showing a cool head towards the end of the game, scoring some valuable points.

The Pioneers will need another team contribution this Friday night to record
another victory and stay in the hunt for finals contention.

This looms as a danger game for the CASTEC Rural Pioneers, Albury Wodonga started the season in great form but have dropped off in recent weeks and will be throwing everything at the Pioneers this Friday night. The Bandits defeated the Pioneers earlier in the season by 3 points, therefore the Pioneers will be seeking redemption.

Albury Wodonga boast an impressive line-up, with two good American imports, plus star SEABL veteran Nick Payne. Payne caused some headaches for the Pioneers earlier in the season and will need to be shutdown.

The Castec Rural Pioneers encourage local fans to come out to the Icehouse this Friday night and help your Local team get a victory on its home court.

POTENTIAL KEY PLAYERS

CASTEC Rural Pioneers - Erik Burdon / Matt Sutton :
On paper the Pioneers backcourt holds an advantage, but Albury had the better of the battle earlier in the season. Erik showed some great form early last Friday night before getting into foul trouble. Burdon has the game to hurt teams on the scoreboard, but has shown this season he can also shutdown key players. Matt has been consistent all season and needs to continue his good form. Sutton continues to be a good decision maker and is not frighten to take the ball to the hoop.

Albury Wodonga Bandits - Ray Bright / Travis Gabbidon:
Bright and Gabbidon potentially stand between the Pioneers and victory. The two American Imports are critical to the Bandits success.
