The "Star FM" Pioneers have
returned to the winners list with an 18 point win over the
Kilsyth Cobras in the club's 500th SEABL game at the
IceHouse Friday night. However, the margin does not indicate
just how tough the win was for the Pioneers. The Cobras
defeated Knox on Thursday night by 13.
Dallas
Jeffree tallied an impressive 26 points whilst import Chris
Lewis battled all night for his 21 points and 12 rebounds in
an outstanding display. Lewis' hard work was especially
important once Ryan Blankson left the court with his sixth
foul in the last period. Blankson was also impressive for
the milestone celebrating home team.
John Croft (21 points) and Chris Cameron (15) were in top
form for the Cobras whilst import big Brad Bridgewater
struggled after quarter time scoring his 10 points in the
first period.
Coach Jason Sedlock in his first home in uniform for the
season provided spark off the bench with an impressive
double-double - 16 points and 10 rebounds. He was awarded
the game night MVP award.
Carl Teske was not in Pioneers uniform needing to return to
Queensland due to personal reasons.
The Pioneers are back on the road in Round 7 taking on the
Bendigo Braves and a return game against the Kilsyth Cobras.
Both are very achievable and are important if the Pioneers
to regain playoffs contention.
The Pioneers next home game is on the 20th April against the
Knox Raiders - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
