PIONEERS DEFEAT AIS IN THRILLER!

The "Star FM" Pioneers have defeated the talented and in form Australian Institute of Sport by one point at the IceHouse on Friday night.

The game went right down to the wire, AIS star Pat Mills missing the first of two free throws with just over a second left in regulation which could have taken the game into overtime.

After a start to the game Dallas Jeffree totalled 25 points including some crucial baskets to assist the Pioneers over the line in front of a large and loud home crowd. But it was Ryan Blankson who was most dominant for the home side who totalled 22 points and pulled in many rebounds against his much bigger AIS opponents. Blankson was awarded with the game night MVP award.

Bed Dowdell paced the AIS and as expected Pat Mills was a valuable contributor for the AIS in their first game in a tough weekend on the road.

The Pioneers are again at home next weekend hosting the Southern Districts Spartans. Now with a win behind them the boys will be out for revenge after the demolition last weekend in Brisbane, get out and Cheer them on!

It will also be welcome back to former Pioneer, Damien "Moose" Anderson - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
