DISAPPOINTING ROAD DOUBLE

The "Star-FM" Pioneers have returned to Mount Gambier after a horror 0-2 result in Tasmania. The result makes the remaining 2 weeks of SEABL action even more crucial as the Pioneers have fallen to 6th position on the South Conference standings.

On Friday night, playing in front of a large crowd at Aurora stadium the Pioneers fell to the Hobart Chargers by 8 points (102-94) after trailing by as much as 20 on the 3rd period. Former Cairns Taipan, Anthony Stewart was his usual self pacing the Chargers with 30 points whilst his team-mates all made valuable contributions to secure the win.

Ryan Blankson was the Pioneers best with 28 points and 15 rebounds whilst on his return from injury Jon Shepherd also compiled 27 points. Dallas Jeffree also combined 23 points with 13 rebounds in a strong performance.

After an impressive performance against the Thunder earlier this season, the Pioneers struggled from the offset on Saturday night to go down by 36 points.

Troy De Vries continued his impressive season to date with 30 points and Luke Brennan, Nashid Beard and the Armstrong brothers all lead to consolidate the win. Ryan Blankson was ejected for the Pioneers and Chris Lewis was forced to return from injury, playing 10 minutes in his comeback.

Dallas Jeffree continued to display his same passionate and hard working performance, leading the Pioneers with 40 points. He also manages 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Jason Sedlock made one of his biggest contributions this season with 16 points.

The "Star FM" Pioneers are back at home on the 13th July, hosting the Bendigo Braves and another former Pioneer in Sam Fotu. The Braves are leading the South and the game will be on the Eve of the 20th Anniversary Celebration and these two reasons make for a huge game.

Get out to the IceHouse and cheer on YOUR "Star FM" Pioneers - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
