PIONEERS CONTINUE PUSH IN SEDLOCK'S 200th

The "Star FM" Pioneers have bounced back after a big loss at home in Round 16 to defeat the Nunawading Spectres 119-99 in front of a large crowd celebrating Jason Sedlock 200 game milestone.

Sedlock was his typical self, doing the tough things and keeping the Pioneers on track for the W, compiling 12 points and 6 rebounds. His efforts were very important, especially with import Chris Lewis on the sidelines suffering with an infected arm following his clash with Supercat, Jamal Brown in week 16.

Spectres were without stars, Shane McDonald and Jason Eversteyn and guard Jarrod Scoffern was left to pick up the pieces. He raced to 28 points at the half time break. But in the 2nd half he was contained to 4 points, thanks largely to the defensive efforts of Chris Mason who played one of his best games for the club since his arrival in 2005. Mason also managed 15 points.

Pioneers "Big 3", Dallas Jeffree, Ryan Blankson and Jon Shepherd continued there outstanding form guiding the team to the 20 point victory. Shepherd totalled 29 points, Blankson and Jeffree added 28 and 18 respectively. Daniel Wilson was also impressive with 11 points for the home team.

The IceHouse crowd was probably at its loudest with 5 minuted remaining, locals Shaun Irvine and Tom Kosch entering the game. Both players making valuable contributions as the clock ran down, Irvine scoring 5 points, including one long range 3 pointer and Tom Kosch getting to the Charity stripe for his single point. Both once again showed they are capable of making some valuable contributions for the Pioneers.

The "Star FM" Pioneers are back at home on the 22nd June, hosting the in-form Frankston Blues. It will be former Pioneer, Bart Strzebonski's first visit to the IceHouse as a player since his departure following last season.

Get out there and cheer on YOUR "Star FM" Pioneers - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
