PIONEERS GET IMPORTANT ROAD WIN

 

The "Star FM" Pioneers have continued their improved late season form, winning only their second road game in Albury on Saturday night. After a strong start and leading at the half, the Pioneers were able to hold off the Bandits despite throwing away 27 turnovers for the game.

Dallas Jeffree guided the win totalling 28 points however the scoring was again assisted by Jon Shepherd and Ryan Blankson who compiled 27 and 26 points respectively. Blankson also dominated on the glass with another 17 rebounds.

As it was expected the combination of Nick Payne and Brad Sheridan lead the Bandits with 32 and 23 points. Luke McKerrow and Tom Remmerswaal were also impressive for the home team providing valuable contributions.

The win continues the Pioneers' push on NW Tasmania and Kilsyth for 3rd and 4th position in the South Conference. The Pioneers are hot on the heals of both teams and look promising especially with the team firing through the contributions of it's complete rotation.

With 7 games remaining in the regular season every game becomes more important for the Pioneers. Every game will be tough but perhaps none tougher than the Pioneers assignment in week 16, hosting the Geelong Supercats.

The "Star FM" Pioneers are back at home this Friday, the 15th June, hosting the very talented Geelong Supercats who lost there first game for the season in Week 15. Get out to the IceHouse and cheer on YOUR "Star FM" Pioneers - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
