The "Star FM" Pioneers have
continued their improved late season form, winning only
their second road game in Albury on Saturday night. After a
strong start and leading at the half, the Pioneers were able
to hold off the Bandits despite throwing away 27 turnovers
for the game.
Dallas Jeffree guided the win totalling 28 points however
the scoring was again assisted by Jon Shepherd and Ryan
Blankson who compiled 27 and 26 points respectively.
Blankson also dominated on the glass with another 17
rebounds.
As it was expected the combination of Nick Payne and Brad
Sheridan lead the Bandits with 32 and 23 points. Luke
McKerrow and Tom Remmerswaal were also impressive for the
home team providing valuable contributions.
The win continues the Pioneers' push on NW Tasmania and
Kilsyth for 3rd and 4th position in the South Conference.
The Pioneers are hot on the heals of both teams and look
promising especially with the team firing through the
contributions of it's complete rotation.
With 7 games remaining in the regular season every game
becomes more important for the Pioneers. Every game will be
tough but perhaps none tougher than the Pioneers assignment
in week 16, hosting the Geelong Supercats.
The "Star FM" Pioneers are back at home this
Friday, the
15th June,
hosting the very talented Geelong Supercats who lost there
first game for the season in Week 15.
