PIONEERS DEFEATED BY CANBERRA AT HOME

The "Star FM" Pioneers have been defeated by the Canberra Gunners at the IceHouse by the margin of 30 points. As it was expected Anthony Petrie was in top form, the NBL signing extending the Gunners lead to 10 points at the end of the first period. Petrie finished the game with 27 and 10 rebounds  points in 41 minutes of action.

All of the Pioneers 11-man squad saw minutes but Blankson continued his form leading the way for the home team combining his 21 points with 13 rebounds and another double-double. Pioneers' coach Jason Sedlock was also efficient with 14 points, Dallas Jeffree had 13 and import Chris Lewis totalled 12 in the outing.

Although the Pioneers closed the gap to 12 at three quarter time the home team was only able to score 13 points in the third quarter as the Gunners surged further ahead. The depth of the talented Canberra club caused headaches for the Pioneers down the stretch.

The Pioneers next home game is on the 11th May against the Ballarat Miners - BE THERE & BE LOUD!
