MEDIA RELEASE: PIONEERS FACE BRISBANE INVASION

The Pioneers have never defeated the Southern Districts SPARTANS.

The Pioneers have performed poorly at home in recent weeks.  The team was keen to hold a home court advantage this season and in recent weeks, this has been far from the fact.  Barlow played his best home game of the season last week, however Parham played easily his worst.  With Russell still on the injured list, the Pioneers desperately need a four quarter effort from everybody.

The Pioneers cannot afford to get blown away early as has happened recently.  The Pioneers need to be more disciplined and stand tall if they are desperate to gain victory.

The Spartans are very athletic and have great outside shooting capability.  They disposed of the Pioneers easily last month in Brisbane and will be confident of doing it again.

A lift is required from all of the Pioneers playing and the Coaches need to make sure the team keeps mentally tough for the full 48 minutes.

Everyone is encouraged to get out to the Icehouse on Friday night and watch the Pioneers get an important home court victory.

Ticket are available from the International Motel, Star-FM reception or at the door.

Match presentations will be held in the canteen after the game this week, so we encourage spectators to remain and talk to the team after the match.

With Bar & Canteen facilities available, the Icehouse will be a great place to enjoy quality sport with some friends on Friday night.

Patrons are encourage to get to the game at least half an hour before tip-off.

Come along and support your local Scott’s of Mount Gambier Pioneers this Friday night at the ICEHOUSE.
